Tom Brown comes from a musical family. His father James was also a professional musician / instrument repairer. Tom studied piano from the age of eight and gradually introduced trumpet, saxophone and flute. At the age of nineteen he turned professional, moving to London to work as a session musician / composer / arranger in the fields of TV, radio, recording, theatre, films and touring.

Tom also studied jazz theory, harmony and improvisation with Aubrey Frank at Trinity College, London and later with the great Ronnie Scott. Tom also became an accomplished blues musician having spent two years with the legendary Long John Baldry Blues Band.

Tom provides the following levels of tuition for saxophone and flute :

The Associated Board Of The Royal Schools Of Music
Practical - Grades 1 to 8 and Grades 1 to 5 Jazz
Theory - Grades 1 to 5

Advanced Jazz and Blues tuition is also available.
