Tom Brown

Tom Brown has been repairing woodwind instruments for more than thirty years. Starting in his father's music shop in Ayrshire, he learned to repair/service saxophone, clarinet and flute. he then continued to work in London with renowned saxophonist and repairer Les Evans, followed by spells with Pro-Brass/Woodwind in Camden Town and Bill Lewington's in Shaftesbury Avenue.

At the same time Tom maintained his career as a session musician / composer / arranger (see tuition). In the late 80's he attended Merton College to enhance his skills in double reed woodwind repair (bassoon and oboe), and in 1990 he moved to Hampshire and launched Pro-Woodwind Repairs.

Among his many clients are teachers, county music services, schools / colleges, the military and professional musicians. Tom has been a member of The National Association of Musical Instrument Repairers since 1996.
